To suppress tests from being discovered, please follow these instructions:
Log in as the user 'superuser'.
Click on ADMINISTRATION --> USER CLASS
Click on 'Default Thresholds & Actions' under the right column 'UPDATE SETTINGS FOR'
At the left, in the 'Select Monitor Type' dropdown, select the appropriate type.
In the 'Available Test Category' select the appropriate category
Move it into the 'Selected Test Category' to the right by clicking the >> button
IMPORTANT: Uncheck the 'DISCOVER TEST' checkbox in the row that is added.
Click on 'Update Thresholds And Actions'.
Now log out as the superuser account
Log back in as the account you ordinarily use to create devices and tests
Next, create a device.
When presented the 'ADD STANDARD TESTS' page, please elect the last option 'Create new tests manually (Select Specific Monitors)' and click on the 'Add Tests' button.
The next page, 'Create New Tests: Step 2 - Filter Tests To Create' lists the available tests. The tests that have been suppressed from discovery will no longer be listed here.
It may not sometimes be obvious what the appropriate monitor type and test category might be. Please reply to this post if there are questions.
