If you need to make configuration changes to a large number of tests across different devices, the BVE API server provides a flexible and powerful interface. However, simple tasks like changing thresholds, polling interval, action profile or suspending/resuming set of tests across number of devices can be performed directly from the Web Application by leveraging advanced filtering capability.
a. Navigate to Administration -> Devices and click on Tests link for one of the devices in question.
b. Click on the Advanced Search link at the top-right corner of the UI.
c. Select one or more search criteria to create a filter that will match the category of tests you need to update. Adter selecting each criteria, click on the Add button to include it in the filter (see attachment for example). When complete, click on Search.
d. The list of tests will be reduced to match the filter. You can now select specific tests by enabling the check-box on far left and apply necessary changes by using the test parameter form at the bottom of the page.
e. The search filter is "sticky" and as you navigate from the test list of one device to another, only the matching tests will be shown. So you can perform the same operation as above across multiple devices without having to re-apply the search filter.
f. When the tests on all devices have been updated, click on the Clear link next to the Advanced Search (Active) link at top right hand corner to reset the filter.
